Welcomes Nominations for 2010 Sr. Benedict Bunning Award






Madonna Manor invites nominations for the annual Sister Benedict Bunning Award. This award is given at the annual Madonna Manor Applauds Celebration, scheduled for September, 2010. The award is presented to a member of the community whose life reflects the visionary spirit and compassionate life of Sister Benedict Bunning, OSB.

Nominations are accepted in the form of letters of recommendation. Please include contact information for yourself, and your nominee. Nominations may be mailed to Madonna Manor, Sister Benedict Bunning Award, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, KY 41017, or emailed to karent@madonnamanor.org by February 28th, 2010.

Construction Update

Construction began in October 2009 on our new state of the art skilled nursing and personal care community that will feature an innovative, homelike environment designed to provide residents a comfortable home while maintaining individual lifestyle choices. The new building will double the capacity of the current building.

The future building will have 60 licensed beds for skilled nursing care, 40 personal care apartments (efficiencies, one and two bedroom) and 24 memory care rooms. The skilled nursing and the memory care rooms will be clustered in households. Each household will share a kitchen, dining room and hearth room.

To reflect our Catholic identity the building features a large chapel prominently located just inside the main entrance. Five beautiful stained glass windows that are in our current chapel will be installed in the interior walls of the new chapel. A sculpture of Mary that was once affixed to the current building’s façade will be placed in the hallway to the personal care dining room along with a mosaic designed exclusively for Madonna Manor by Sr. Jane Mary Sorosiak, a gifted artist from the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio. Other building features include a fully equipped therapy room, on-site salon, spa room and an elegant dining room overlooking the lake. Construction is on schedule with anticipated completion by June 2011.
